Meeting with the Director of the Madinah Criminal Investigation Department
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdur Rahman was honored to receive an official invitation to visit the Madinah Criminal Investigation Department and the Forensic Investigation Department in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
The visit was conducted alongside colleagues and students from the Department of Cybersecurity and Forensic Computing (CSFC) of UPM, providing a valuable opportunity to explore real-world applications of AI and digital forensics in law enforcement and criminal investigation.
During the visit, discussions were held on:
- The role of Artificial Intelligence in modern criminal investigation and evidence analysis
- Applications of Multi-Agentic AI in digital forensics — including automated evidence processing and chain-of-custody management
- Potential collaboration on AI-powered forensic tools for law enforcement in Madinah
- How computer vision and AI can assist in scene reconstruction and forensic evidence classification
This visit reflects CSFC Department's ongoing commitment to bridging cutting-edge academic AI research with real-world public safety and security applications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The engagement with CSFC colleagues and students underscored the importance of exposing the next generation of researchers to the practical challenges facing law enforcement agencies.
